Welcome to Mechanical Engineering at UBC. We are glad that you have chosen to join us, and that Mech is where you wish to be. Certainly, Mechanical Engineering is an extremely diverse and interesting field. As a Mech graduate, you could work in fields as varied as biomechanics, robotics, aircraft, manufacturing, and naval architecture. The UBC Mechanical Engineering Department is widely respected both across Canada and around the world. Our graduates work at NASA, European Space Agency, Pratt and Whitney, GM, Toyota, and with many other major international employers. We wish you every success with your studies. The work is hard, but the rewards are great.
